How to Redeem Citi Double Cash® Credit Card Rewards

The Citi Double Cash Credit Card offers several benefits, including unlimited 2% cash back on everyday purchases (1% when you purchase and 1% when you repay those charges) with no category enrollments. Cardmembers can also earn a total of 5% cash back on hotels, car rentals, and attractions booked through Citi Travel.

That cash back is earned as ThankYou Points, which you can then redeem in a variety of ways.

How do Citi Double Cash Credit Card rewards work?

Citi Double Cash cardmembers earn 1 ThankYou Point per $1 spent on purchases (or 4 points per $1 on hotels, car rentals, and attractions booked through Citi Travel) and an additional ThankYou Point for every $1 paid on those purchases. You may then redeem your ThankYou Points in several ways, including cash back, gift cards, travel and shopping.

You can redeem your ThankYou Points online, or you can do so by calling the ThankYou Service Center.

You may also redeem your ThankYou Points by calling the ThankYou Service Center at 1-800-THANKYOU (1-800-842-6596). If you’re outside the U.S., please call collect at 859-283-8016. TTY: We accept 711 or other Relay Service.

Operating hours are Monday to Friday between 8 AM and 1 AM ET and Saturday and Sunday between 9 AM and 9 PM ET.

5 ways to redeem Citi Double Cash rewards

You may redeem your ThankYou Points for cash back, travel, shopping, gift cards and charitable donations.

Cash back

With the Citi Double Cash card, you can redeem your ThankYou Points for cash back, as a statement credit, direct deposit or check by mail.

Travel

You can also book your next adventure with ThankYou Points. Cardmembers can redeem their ThankYou Points — or a combination of points and their credit card — to pay for flights, hotels, rental cars and attractions through Citi Travel. Plus, there are no blackout dates or minimum stay requirements.

Shop with Points

You can redeem ThankYou Points at participating retailers using Shop with Points. Redeem online or in-store from participating merchants like Amazon, Best Buy, CVS, HomeGoods, Shell, Walmart and Walgreens.

For Shop with Points, cardmembers may need to link their ThankYou and participating retailer accounts. Depending on the retailer, you can use points to cover your purchase or for a statement credit.

Charitable donations

In addition to using ThankYou Points for cash back and purchases, Citi Double Cash cardmembers can use points to make charitable donations to organizations like the American Red Cross, the ASPCA, UNICEF USA and the World Central Kitchen. (You’ll need at least 1,000 ThankYou Points to initiate a donation.)

Gift cards

You may also use your points to purchase physical or eGift cards from participating retailers in categories like dining, entertainment, fashion, beauty and travel.

ThankYou Point redemption values can vary depending on how you redeem them. Keeping that in mind can help you find options that maximize their value and make sense for you.
